A Pioneer is born!!

She came, She finally came!!!! Makennly Eileen Boyle was born on Tuesday July 24, 2012 (the Pioneer Day holiday for the LDS church) at 11:25 am.  She weighed in at 7 lbs 0 oz and is 20 in tall.  She is the most beautiful baby girl anybody has ever seen.  Shyla's water broke right at 4:00 am and we were at the hospital by 5:30 am.  The doctors were shocked at how quickly Shyla moved through labor.  Makennly is doing really well.  She was taken to the NICU right after birth and will be there until Thursday morning.  When she was born there was mechonium (her first poop) in the placenta and she swallowed & inhaled a bunch of it when she first cried.  The doctors were worried that she wouldn't be able to properly exchange oxygen and it could lead to pneumonia.  However, the pediatrician was very pleased with how she is doing.  She didn't swallow as much as originally thought and is a healthy, strong baby.  We have been spending as much time with her as possible and Shyla and Makennly have been working hard at breast feeding.  We can't wait to take her home tomorrow and Shyla is dying to doll her up.  We absolutely love Makennly and feel so blessed to have her in our life.  Welcome to our family Makennly!!
